Music Monday: ALL THE METAL + Matching with Alex

musicmonday

I wasn’t very focused today. There was a kitchen to clean, dental fillings and vet appointments to schedule, laundry to be done, and a poor attention span to boot as I overslept. But I did remember that it was Monday so that’s something, even if it’s at 9pm.

So not much blabber from me. Here’s the latest video from A Sound of Thunder and it is awesome.

Music Matching with Alex!

Weekly challenge: find or share a song that you know that either has a matching title, theme, or other details. The more matches, the better! Make them clear, make them oddly specific, or make them obscure, it’s yours! Musicians welcome! To enter, simply either leave a link to your match as a comment with a few words (More words, if you like.) or add a Pingback to your post and I’ll scuttle over to see what you’ve come up with. 😀

“I. Am. Metal.” -maybe Smaug

In the beginning
When all was black
An explosion cracked the sky
Volcanoes erupted
The Earth was corrupted
By the sound that terrifies

From the chaos came savage man
To feast on the flesh
Of the beasts he slew
And as the cavemen discovered
The fire and the thunder
The strongest of them knew

It was metal
Heavy metal
And it’s been here
Since time began
Electrifying and unifying
A sonic gift to man

In 1913 The Rite of Spring symphony
Made the crowd lose control
Then the blues man sealed
The crossroads deal
With the devil for his soul
To bring us rock ‘n’ roll
And now you can hear it pounding
There’s joy in the screams
We tell our stories
With ear-splitting glory
Metal reigns supreme

It was metal
Heavy metal
And it’s been here
Since time began
Electrifying and unifying
A sonic gift to man

It was metal
We strike down the unbelievers
Defenders heed the call
Demons tremble
When the legion assembles
We let the hammer fall

It was metal
Heavy metal
And it’s been here
Since time began
It’s electrifying
It’s unifying
The sound that rules the land
It was metal
Heavy metal
It was metal
Heavy metal
It was metal
Heavy metal
