Music Monday (on Tuesday): Action Cookies + Matching with Alex

musicmonday

I forgot Monday. Again. That’s three consecutive entries for what is probably the easiest thing that I do around here, which is personally unacceptable. So as a form of penance we’ll be doing Music Monday on a Tuesday.

I went through a bunch of possible choices but I really wasn’t feeling any of them. A day where I don’t want to share a Thin Lizzy song is truly a blah one. Then my brain wandered back to this awesome action movie I’d watched a couple of weeks ago on B-Movie TV called Traxx. It follows the exploits of Traxx, a mercenary ex-cop-turned-vigilante who cleans up the crime in his town while chasing the dream of being a master cookie baker. 1980’s action films are truly a lost art. The tone of the movie is akin to Last Action Hero if said movie were to binge on four bags of sugar and a gallon of Tabasco sauce and is an absolute joy to watch.

One of the best moments is around the mid-way point where the movie breaks into a classic 80’s montage of citizens cleaning up the town, people lining up to buy Traxx t-shirts, and Traxx trying to bake cookies and dancing by a lake with his buddy Deeter. I have been searching for that montage on its own ever since but in the end I had to make it myself. This took a bit of hunting and work but I managed to do it, so enjoy the crumbly goodness!

Music Matching with Alex!

Weekly challenge: find or share a song that you know that either has a matching title, theme, or other details. The more matches, the better! Make them clear, make them oddly specific, or make them obscure, it’s yours! Musicians welcome! To enter, simply either leave a link to your match as a comment with a few words (More words, if you like.) or add a Pingback to your post and I’ll scuttle over to see what you’ve come up with. 😀

Jump Street!

I tried for lyrics but the search was hopeless and Deeter talks over the first several lines.
